x320 hood. We are a very happy customer since 2012.
we had a problem this year with a hood getting damage. tried to find a used one out there since the cost was so high. We noticed that everyone was looking for the hood for the x300 series. Was is a poor design?
or is the customers just to hard on them. Well i broke down and bought a new hood at over $400.00 just for the body and will use my lights and other parts to bring back to new again. I told other customers they should just do the same to keep value to there great mowers. You may think this is wrong of me but noticed you all have a BM23057 bumper that is quite high.
Does this bumper seem to help people like me from front end hood damage? This may be way out of line but are they a way I could get a real good discount on The BM23057 bumper? WE have the x320 model and just bought a friends used x340 model mower for use here at home for me and the wife to keep up all of our mowing, John Deere is the best we ever had. Thanks for your time..

Bad service and dishonest employees
I took my tractor to Fields JD in Clermont FL with a bad wheel bearing. After they got it in their shop and took it apart they called me and said it will be 1200 dollars to rebuild the 4×4 front hub.
At that point I had no choice but to say fix it. They call a few days later and said it's done, so I went and picked it up. I unloaded it and less than 5 min of using it I heard this grinding in the front hub they had just rebuilt. So no way in *** will I take it back to them, and they say something else is wrong and 1200 again.
So I pulled it in my shop and I drained the differential oil, First thing I noticed they charged me for new gear oil but it was used motor oil. Then I pulled the hub apart and there was no bearing and it scored up the inside of the housing. And they didn't rebuild the hub that I paid way too much for. So I paid them 1200 dollars to take it apart and take out the bearing and put used motor oil in it and send it home.
I took the hub back and showed it to the service manager, and he said sorry some time things happen. He ordered me a new gear and a bearing. Would not replace the housing. I took it home and put it back together.
And they did not rebuild the hub like I asked them to and paid for. I'm still replacing bearing in that hub. Another time my front in loader lift cylinders was leaking, so I bought the kit from them and was going to do it myself and I saw how it was made and how hard it was going to be, so I decided to take it to them they charged me 400 dollars and said they had to buy new cylinder kits those were no good. BS big lie.
So some time passed and the tilt cylinders started leaking, so I went to buy the kits I was going to do it my self. the guy at the parts counter said they are 100 dollars each, And I have a 4100 small compact, cylinders are 1 1/4 bore there is maybe 6 little O-rings and seals and the orange V ring to remove the snap ring inside. A 100 DOLLARS EACH. I told him you have to be kidding me.
he said they are expensive. I went home and ordered them on the net for 18 dollars each. Fields JD is 2 miles from my house and I will never go there again.I buy all my parts online from Green Parts.com They have 3 very large warehouses full of OEM John Deere parts I call they help me look up part numbers most numbers I can get from there website.prices are reasonable. My front wheel bearing they charge me 8 dollars, the front gear their price 43 dollars.
My 60-inch deck blades at fields 70 dollars , Green Parts.com 12 dollars, with them everyone pays the same price. At fields if they don't like you they charge you 4 or 5 times the cost. John Deere makes a good product but the service and prices I will never buy another one. In fact today I'm going to pick up my new Toro 72 inch cut zero turn, On sale 30% off saving 3000 dollars.
I was in there yesterday buying parts for my other mower, 15 feet of gas line a fuel pump and a gas filter.
The filter was 7 dollars, and he gave me the filter and charged me for the gas line and the pump, 43 dollars. It would have been a 100 at JD.
Preferred solution: I would just like for the owner or the franchisee know they are dishonest

Verified ReviewerMower stopped moving while engine was running
I buy this e110 lawn tractor, or whatever its called. I live in a subdivision and I bought a John Deere specifically to cut my 1.2 acre condo complex lawn.
I bought a Deere because I heard about how great their quality was and I assumed that it would live up to the hype.
I've had it for 2 seasons with a total of 59 hrs on it and the spring that keeps the cutting belt under tension snapped from its mooring and just lies on the top of the deck.
this requires me to manually align the belt ever time I engage the deck for cutting.
That has been going on for about a month; and then 2 weeks ago, the drive belt came off and the mower just stopped. to make a long story short, I had to borrow a truck and trailer to take it to an out of county John Deere authorized service center. The prepared the belt and of course charged me for it.
The didn't even notice the spring issue.
Again, I had to borrow a truck to transport it back home several days later. What a bunch of Shxt.
For the $2400.00 price I would have thought it would work for more that 59 hrs of work with out two tings going wrong with it.
As a 52 year old business owner (of 27 years) I expected John Deere to be a quality product, but it sucks.
- Ease of use
- Losing m yy life time faith with john deere

Frustrated with my Gator
I recently purchased a new 835 E Gator at James River Equipment. It has been virtually impossible to buy accessories that fit the product.
I have spent several thousand dollars already and discovered when it comes to electrical items, wiring harness kits are necessary for all items. That's one issue but I've yet to find a harness that is product specific and I've been through 4 different harnesses for different items. They are not made properly even to the extent that the connectors don't match up. The parts department at the Salisbury, N.C.
store has tried to be helpful but is equally frustrated. The service department wished me luck at installing these items but was little or no help. I also drove a 590M and thought it would be a good fit for my wife but after this experience, I can't see going through these issues again and that's sad. I currently own a Kawasaki Mule, Honda and have owned Polaris, Yamaha but have never seen this.
If I expect to add driving or work lights to this machine, I will need to have someone make a harness which is ridiculous. I'm not commenting just to vent and I'm sure you'll continue to prosper without my business but this is bad business.
I can't be the only customer that has had or is having these issues. For the record, I also own 2 Deere tractors which are good units but I will not buy another Gator.
- Forced to purchase items such as wiring that should be standard
- Poor accessory availability along with poor quality
Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered
User's recommendation: Buyer beware.
